Početak je 2022. godine, a Sony smatra da je to idealno vrijeme da javno objavi koje su igre igrači iz cijelog svijeta tijekom čitave 2021. godine najviše preuzimali putem PlayStation Storea. Kompletna lista sadrži dvije zasebne TOP 20 kategorije te dvije zasebne TOP 10 kategorije.
Prva TOP 20 je za PlayStation 5, druga TOP 20 za PlayStation 4. Zatim TOP 10 najskidanijih PSVR igara te na kraju TOP 10 najskidanijih free to play igara za PlayStation 4 i PlayStation 5 zajedno. Lista dolazi putem novog posta na službenom PlayStation blogu, a kako ističe i sami Sony, sportske igre bile su veliki pobjednici na konzoli PlayStation 5. Ali bilo je tu i nekih iznenađenja kao što je Among Us koji je zauzeo šesto mjesto u čitavoj Europi. Od ostalih igara malo toga iznenađuje.
Tu su, naravno, i FIFA 22, Call of Duty: Vanguard i ponovno GTA V, ali i Fortnite kao najskidanija free to play igra, dok Beat Saber suvereno vlada kao najskidanija VR igra. Nažalost, neke od odvažnijih potpuno novih igara kao što su Arkaneov Deathloop, Housemarqueov spektakularni Returnal te odlična Kena: Bridge of Spirits zauzeli su, barem u Americi, “tek” posljednja tri mjesta najskidanijih igara za PlayStation 5, a iako je odlično što je Kena u Europi na visokom sedmom mjestu, Returnala (igre finskog studija) u Europi uopće nema na listi.
